Journey to Nicaragua

Hi there!

I have had so many people ask about my move to Nicaragua soon.  So I figured I would make a post!  I did not have a peace about starting seminary straight away in August, and I did not have any other doors really open for ministry.  I stayed in prayer that the Lord would really direct my path and direction.  I came to my parents about two months ago and asked if I could go to Nicaragua.  They completely shut the door because they were not too keen on me going alone.  I kept praying, knowing that if they were going to change their mind, the Lord was going to have to be the one who did it!  About a month ago, I approached them again, asking if they would be open to it.  After sharing my heart to serve and not having a peace about pursuing seminary just yet, they were open to the idea.  Though Mom and Dad are both wanting me safe, they told me they did not want to get in the way of what the Lord was leading in my life.

Here's the details:

I am leaving at the end of August and staying until December.
I am going alone but I have many contacts in Nicaragua due to my previous seven trips.
I am living in a one bedroom space behind on of my dear Nicaraguan friends, Andrea.
I will be working at an orphanage.  Loving on the children, teaching them Bible stories, and trying to meet any needs I possibly can.
I will be setting up teaching opportunities in schools so we can send American teachers to Nicaragua for a certain amount of time to teach.  This will open the door to evangelize with the students and staff there.
Each week I will be teaching women and children at different churches.
A couple of times a week, I will be on the University campus to build relationships with students there in prayer that my relationship with them will lead in having one with God.
Starting Bible studies in different areas, teams have already worked in, will be my main goal.

A lot of times people go on mission trips to change lives.  I know that after this experience for four months, my life will be completely changed.  My prayer is that I will be challenged, stretched, and deeper in my relationship with the Lord.  Missions is my passion.

Many have asked:  How can I be involved?

-I will need lots of encouragement during these next few months.  Internet will be available but not much.  Facebook messages are great but if you have children, youth, or yourself who would like to send me letters, my address will be listed below.  I will also try to respond to any letters I receive!

Ashlyn Williams
Managua, del edificio Armando

guido 4c hacia el sur y 1/2c hacia el oeste, Bo. San Luis.

- I need all the prayer I can get for this trip!  Pray for lives to be changed, relationship opportunities, and that the schools will approve teaching opportunities.  Also pray for wisdom, discernment, perseverance, guidance, teachable spirit, health, and safety.

- I have not raised all of my support just yet for Nicaragua.  I know the Lord will provide!  One way I raise my support is by taking pictures.  All of my funds have always gone to missions.  Though this is a great way to raise my money, it will not pay for everything I need.

Thanks to everyone who has already wanted to be involved in His mission.
I am beyond excited to see what the Lord has planned!
